Runar

Runar began as a personal exploration into the boundaries of typography. The project started with a simple question: how much can the structure of a letter be reduced, reshaped, or reimagined while it remains legible? The design itself began with a strip of paper. Curiosity grew a study into modular construction, strict verticals and the interplay between rhythm and form. By pushing these principles further, Runar gradually transformed from a experiment into a fully-fledged typeface. One that is as much about visual impact as it is about communication.

Runar is an experimental typeface that challenges the boundaries of legibility and form. Its structure is rooted in strict verticals and modular geometry. Runar is designed to stand out, to spark curiosity and to turn words into visual puzzles. With its sculptural shapes it works best in large-scale applications where typography becomes a central design element. Originally developed as an independent experiment, Runar embodies the idea that type can be more than a vehicle for text, it can be an artwork in itself.
