FC Barcelona x Gaudí (Concept Jersey)

This concept explores the connection between FC Barcelona’s identity and the organic architecture of Antoni Gaudí, with a particular focus on Casa Milà. Inspired by the interplay of light and shadow across its organic forms and sculptural surfaces, I translated these contrasts into an asymmetrical pattern that flows across the shirt.

The result is a conceptual football shirt that brings together football, architecture, and graphic design. By combining Barcelona’s iconic colours with dynamic shapes and contrasting tones, the design captures the visual rhythm of light and shadow, bringing together architecture, culture, and sport in a contemporary football shirt.

My exploration began with the interplay of light and shadow across the sculptural surfaces of Casa Milà. Rather than focusing solely on its architectural shapes, I looked at how light creates contrast, depth, and variation across its organic forms. These observations informed the development of an asymmetrical pattern, using burgundy, blue, and dark navy to create a dynamic balance between light and dark.

The pattern was developed as a continuous graphic composition, carefully adapted to the front, back, and sleeves of the shirt. By considering how the shapes interact across different panels, the design maintains a sense of movement and visual cohesion while responding to the structure of the garment.
